A3 Thinking
A3 is a problem-solving methodology, born on the factory floor, that fits an entire problem with solution onto a single A3-size sheet of paper: the background, the current condition, the goal, the root cause, the countermeasures and the plan to follow up. If it won’t fit on one page, it isn’t understood well enough.
We work every problem as an opportunity for another step toward excellence. We start by seeing the problem where it happens, then defining what “right” looks like, and dig past the symptoms to the root cause. Then we choose a countermeasure, whether that’s a sourcing partner, a consulting engagement or one of our own platforms and assurance kits, and we check the results against the goal.
That discipline is how we grew from sourcing and consulting into materiel assurance. Consolidator, ShippingPro, StoragePro and the assurance kits each began as a countermeasure to a real customer problem. The result is simple solutions for complex problems, with the evidence to show they worked.
